Performance Marketing Agency of the Year winner: Tug

In a year when the pandemic hit agencies hard, Tug bucked the trend, tripling in size across the APAC region. It was this growth that wowed the PMW judges to take the top agency prize for 2022.

A full service independent performance marketing agency with offices in Sydney, London, Toronto and Berlin, Tug offers a broad range of digital and performance marketing services, by combining data, media, technology and creative to deliver better results. 

In APAC, the business is led from its Sydney office, which has grown significantly in the past 18 months, with the team tripling in size.

While the impacts of COVID caused some clients to reduce marketing spend, over the judging period Tug added 10 new clients, almost a third of which were referrals from existing partners. 

The team operates a flat structure where everyone’s opinion is valued, from the graduates to the CEO, and their equal opportunities and diversity principles are reflected at every level within the organization.

Judges’ comments

Monica Chia, Regional Experience Director, Reprise APAC, said Tug stood out due to showing “great results from clients, both in campaign results and revenue growth especially in a challenging time”. 

Carlos Matriano, Head of Innovation and eCommerce, Omnicom Media Group, said Tug provided “context of what has made them successful and how they have worked with clients to improve their performance” and a “check on Google helped to validate their SEM proficiencies”.
