Pinterest turns brand product catalogues into Shoppable Pins with WooCommerce

The new partnership lets businesses sync their digital catalogues and turn their products into shoppable Pins, displaying in-stock availability and pricing information.

Pinterest is integrating with e-commerce platform WooCommerce giving merchants a way to get their products in front of the social network’s audience.

Once a brand's catalogue is uploaded via the extension, Pinners can click on a shoppable Pin to be taken directly to the retailer's site to make the purchase.

Shoppable Pins will show up in people’s feeds as they search and browse for things to buy.

The extension also logs when customers interact with products on Pinterest, so users can track their best-selling or most saved items.

Aleksandra Bettin, VP of Business Development at WooCommerce, said: “By partnering together we provide the best integrated Pinterest shopping experience possible for WooCommerce merchants to be on the cutting edge of social commerce. WooCommerce is highly invested in our merchants' success. Merchants need the right options to reach the right audiences--this integration with Pinterest helps them do that.”

"Shoppers spend 50% more when they take a week to make a decision"

In Q4 of 2021, Pinners engaging with shopping surfaces increased over 20, both quarter over quarter and year over year and with more than 400 million people coming to Pinterest with an intent to shop.

Through its own research, Pinterest also found that shoppers spend 50% more when they take a week to make a decision and Pinners typically outspend by 2x more than people on other platforms, with 85% bigger baskets at checkout.

Last month, Pinterest rolled out several new features to enhance its shopping experience and enable creators and advertisers to target their audiences even more through a continued taste-driven shopping journey.

These products and the WooCommerce partnership are the next steps in allowing brands to connect and engage with their audience along the full shopping funnel, from inspiration to realisation.
