Reed braces for jobseeker avalanche with ‘Massive Monday’ campaign

New TV, OOH, radio and digital ad from Reed coincides with ‘Massive Monday’ – when record numbers of jobseekers apply for new jobs.

UK recruitment and careers provider The Reed Group has launched a new digital video and TV ad as part of its long standing ‘Love Mondays’ campaign to help Brits find a new job in 2023.

The campaign coincides with ‘Massive Monday’ on January 9th and features across TV, OOH, radio and digital channels. ‘Massive Monday’ is the first working Monday of the year when record numbers of jobseekers register and apply for new vacancies.

The campaign, created by London-based NICE Productions, depicts a young man singing and dancing on his way to work, repeating the line ‘Mondays are working for me’ within the jingle.

Jack Stanton, Creative Director at Nice Productions, said:  “We were charged with creating a fresh start for the brand’s flagship marketing, while building on the established ‘Love Mondays’ messaging, and have endeavoured to create a campaign that exudes joy - centred around music, colour and character.

‘A recession with jobs’

Despite challenging economic conditions, the UK’s labour market remains strong with over 200,000 jobs posted to in December alone, according to the recruiter. Brits are now seeking new opportunities during what Reed has coined ‘a recession with jobs’. People are looking to navigate the cost-of-living crisis, with over a third (34%) of jobseekers citing a salary increase as their main priority (34%).

The Reed groups Chairman, James Reed – who appeared in the beginning of the ad on a moped – commented: “As Britain returns to work after the Christmas break, people up and down the country are now starting to search for a new job.”
