Performance marketing people: Meta makes moves with internal promotions and Google veteran joins Moloco

In our latest round-up of industry moves, Britvic appoints a new Marketing Director, Adludio grows its UK operations and John West Foods announces a big internal promotion.

Soft drink producer Britvic has brought in Munnawar Chishty as its new Marketing Director in Great Britain following the promotion of Bruce Dallas to Commercial Growth Director. Chishty joins from Walgreen Boot Alliance where she worked with global beauty brands No7, Soap & Glory and Liz Earle.

Meta has announced that its Vice-President for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, Derya Matras, will also take over leading Northern Europe – which includes the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries - as the successor of long-term VP Steve Hatch, who announced his departure from the company earlier this month. With nearly 25 years of experience in consumer facing industries and management consulting, Matras joined the Meta in 2015 and has most recently been leading the company in more than 70 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.

Global AI powered platform Adludio has strengthened its UK operations with the appointment of Laura Holmes as Head of Sales. With over a decade of experience in digital media, Holmes has worked for media groups Time Out, The Social Element, Allure Media and most recently, Reach. Holmes will be responsible for building awareness among UK clients of Adludio’s and actionable insights.

Billion Dollar Boy has announced that its Global CEO and co-founder, Ed East, will relocate from the agency’s London office to its New York HQ. He will work alongside Permele Doyle, President and co-founder. Billion Dollar Boy has also promoted Alex Williamson from Creative Director to Global Creative Director, now tasked with leading both the UK and US creative teams.

Emily Barfuss has joined the personified advertising platform, Ogury, as its Chief Marketing Officer. Barfuss has extensive experience building global marketing and communications organisations and brands of $300m+ in revenue, both in the public and private sectors. She started her career at CBS before joining global advertising marketplace Index Exchange and most recently was Chief Marketing Officer at CTV and video-first platform, Tremor International.

Analytic Partners, the commercial analytics platform, has appointed CEO of Sterling, Josh Peirez, to its board of directors. Prior to taking over as CEO of Sterling, Peirez served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Dun & Bradstreet and spent a decade with Mastercard.

Moloco, a machine learning and growth solutions platform for performance marketers has announced that silicon valley veteran, Tal Shaked has joined its leadership team as its first Chief Machine Learning Fellow. Shaked, formerly of Google and Snowflake, will reunite with Moloco CEO Ikkjin Ahn with whom he first worked with in 2009. Shaked will use his two decades of experience to spearhead machine learning (ML) innovation at Moloco and advise on ML investments.

Audience platform for publishers and advertisers Permutive has announced the appointment of four new executives. Kim Castelda joins as Chief People Officer, Chloe Grutchfield as General Manager, Publishers, Sean King as Vice President of Engineering and Michael Kistler as General Counsel.

Castelda joins from Magnitude Software while Grutchfield brings 12 years of experience working within the adtech and martech industries and will be tasked with driving success and innovation for the publisher business.

Having left his role as Vice President of Engineering at Zigo, King will take over the operational running of the engineering team at Permutive. Kistler, formerly of Outbrain, will lead Permutive’s legal function.

As reported in our sister publication Campaign, Charlie Rudd, CEO of Leo Burnett UK and Fallon London, has also joined Publicis.Poke as CEO. Publicis Groupe has extended Rudd's role to bring more connected solutions for clients and talent across the agencies and add more scaled expertise to Publicis.Poke.

Zenus Bank has hired John Woods as its Chief Revenue Officer to drive client acquisition and revenue growth for its Retail, Corporate and Banking-as-a-Service business units. Most recently, Woods worked with Samsung’s European digital operations but has held previous senior roles with Barclays Bank and CMC Markets.

1WorldSync, provider of omnichannel product content solutions, has made a trio of internal promotions to bolster its ambitious growth plans. Three senior executives, Eileen Timmins, Randy Mercer and TJ Waldorf have been promoted to the roles of Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Product Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, respectively.

Timmins is responsible for 1WorldSync’s global human resources and administration. Mercer has 15 years of industry experience with omnichannel product content and in his new role will lead 1WorldSync’s global product management and solution architecture teams.

Waldorf has served as a Chief Marketing Officer in the past and currently head up 1WorldSync’s marketing, communications, business development and community engagement functions.

As reported in our sister publication Campaign, M&C Saatchi has promoted its Chief Executive of M&C Saatchi Group Australia, Justin Graham, to the new position of Global Head of Advertising Network. Graham has been with M&C Saatchi Australia since 2014, joining from Droga5 after previously working at BBDO. The promotion will see him attempt to lead a unified global advertising proposition for the business, as well as building its capabilities within its regional hubs and helping grow its global client base.

Meta has announced a minor restructure following the announcement that long-time Chief Business Officer, Marne Levine, will depart the company. To fill the position, Nicola Mendelsohn and Justin Osofsky have been promoted to expanded roles as Meta’s most senior sales and partnership leaders. The new structure aims to bring the company’s business and product teams closer together.

As reported in Campaign, EssenceMediacom has named Pippa Berlocher as the new CEO for Australia and New Zealand to replace current CEO Pat Crowley who is moving to a new client-facing role as Managing Partner after leading the agency through the Essence and Mediacom merger. Berlocher, formerly of Reprise, is well-known within the industry having previously helped launch the first DWA office in Singapore in 2009 and leading it until it was acquired by Merkle.

John West Foods has promoted Vicky Babb to International Marketing Director. Babb has been with the company since 2020 and the new role will see her assume responsibility for John West’s marketing in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and international markets. Babb previously worked with Everyday Fish, where she developed a portfolio strategy for more than 200 lines and John West’s annual brand plan.

Independent media agency, The Specialist Works, has promoted Alice Rutland to Head of AV. After joining the company seven years ago at an entry-level position, Rutland has quickly proven her value and prior to this latest promotion was working as the businesses AV Director.

The Cotswold Company has made a trio of senior hires including the appointment of Matt Pollington as Chief Marketing Officer. Pollington, who joins from Made.com, previously held roles with ISBA, Sainsbury’s and Sky. Among the new hires are also Mike Ellis who will lead the merchandising team and Jim Sharp as Chairman.
