Creator marketing agency Billion Dollar Boy has appointed Becky Owen as its Chief Marketing Officer. Owen joins from Meta, where she was Head of Creator Innovation and Solution and led the Creators for Business strategy for the brand’s apps across EMEA. Her experience also includes senior leadership roles at Maker Studios, the first global creator agency, and a stint as Head Of Digital Partnerships and Branded Content at The Walt Disney Company.
Yahoo has unveiled a new team to lead its adtech division in Australia and South East Asia (AUSEA). Headlined by John McNerney, who has been with Yahoo for 13 years, becoming Managing Director AUSEA, moving from his Senior Director, Platforms for APAC role to oversee the integrated teams across all of Yahoo Advertising’s disciplines.
Joining McNerney within Yahoo is Julia Edwards, promoted to Commercial Director AUSEA and Andrew Gilbert, who moves to a role as Director of Platforms AUSEA. Retaining their roles as part of the new team are Matt Farrington, APAC Head of Partnerships and Investment, Kenneth Koh as Head of DSP for SEA, Dan Richardson as Head of Data, APAC, and Zoe Cocker, who adds Premium Sales to her current role leading Yahoo Creative Studios.
Fernando Machado will join food tech company NotCo as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) next month. Machado’s wealth of experience includes his most recent two-year stint as CMO of interactive entertainment and gaming company Activision Blizzard, and seven years as CMO at Restaurant Brands International, working on Burger King and Popeyes. He started as an intern at Unilever, which turned into an 18-year tenure culminating in the role of Global Brand Development VP for Dove.
DoubleVerify (DV) has hired Laetitia Zinetti as Regional Vice President for Southern Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece). Zinetti has almost twenty years of experience in marketing, working as Managing Director for Continental Europe in France and England with Ebiquity for more than ten years. She joins DV’s Paris office to lead the execution of its strategy in Southern Europe.
Leagas Delaney London has appointed Katy Welsh as Director of Operations to accelerate the development and growth of the agency’s automation technology. Welsh joins from Wunderman Thompson and has held senior leadership and management roles at agencies including Havas, helia, Ekino, M&C Saatchi and Lean Mean Fighting Machine.
As reported in our sister publication Campaign India, Raji Ramaswamy will be taking on the role of Chief Growth Officer at Wunderman Thompson South Asia alongside her current role as CEO, Contract India, and Joy Chauhan will add Chief Client Officer to his Managing Partner responsibilities.
James Thornett has joined House 337 as Executive Director for Experience Design. Thornett was previously Head of Product, Design and Delivery at Rebellion Defense and has held product leadership roles at Ascential and Palladium Digital.
SmartFrame Technologies has announced three new hires. Nicola Halpin joins as Sales Director, from her most recent position as Senior Director of Sales at Adverity. David Childs is joining the business as Agency Sales Manager, having previously served as Commercial Manager at Omnicom Media Group and Senior Broadcast Buyer at MediaCom, and Liam Machin has joined as Marketing Copywriter, after working as a copywriter for Nelson Bostock.
Gerhard Arnhofer has joined Team ITG and Managing Partner for its Life Science division, Jase George, to spearhead the division’s expansion. Arnhofer joins as Head of Customer Strategy, with two decades of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including Merck & Co., Bayer AG and most recently BioNTech SE, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Customer Strategy.
Measurement and engagement provider AppsFlyer has hired Andreas Naumann as its Anti-Fraud Evangelist. Naumann brings over a decade of industry experience at companies such as Zanox, Trademob and Glispa and until October 2022, he headed the anti-fraud department at mobile measurement provider Adjust.
End-to-end video creation platform Screencastify has appointed Vishal Shah as its CEO. Shah has worked closely with Screencastify through LearnCore, the sales enablement start-up he co-founded as CEO in 2010. He held the position of interim President at Screencastify before being appointed CEO.
Screencastify has also appointed Paul Ray as CTO, while Alex Stepien is promoted from CRO to President and CRO. Ray has almost two decades software development experience with senior roles at Chicago Booth, former CTO at LearnCore and a leader at Amazon. Stepien was the former CEO at Cappex and joined Screencastify in 2021.
Semrush has appointed Anna Baird and Steven Aldrich to its board as independent, non-executive directors, and Brian Mulroy as its incoming Chief Financial Officer. Baird brings more than 30 years of experience working with Silicon Valley companies and was a partner at KPMG for over 17 years before becoming an SVP at McAfee. She was most recently the CRO at Outreach and serves on the board of SeatGeek.
Aldrich spent 12 years with Intuit in a variety of leadership roles and held CEO positions at Posit Science and Outright. He also spent seven years at GoDaddy, the last three as the Chief Product Officer. Mulroy will join Semrush in April and has more than 20 years of finance leadership experience at tech companies. His prior role was SVP of Finance at Microsoft and he spent 10 years at Nuance Communications and 12 years at Progress Software.
