MOGL, an athlete marketplace and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) operations software provider, has teamed-up with NBC Sports Athlete Direct to help connect student athletes with advertisers through a trusted and compliant platform.
The partnership aims to create more sponsorship opportunities for US-based, National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) student athletes to monetise their NIL and allow brands easier access to NIL marketing insights.
The NCAA spent years in strong opposition to students monetising their likeness throughout their collegiate sporting careers, so the industry and marketing landscape is still in its infancy and has been embroiled in controversy since its inception.
MOGL currently powers the NIL programmes for several major universities across all three NCAA divisions. By leveraging the platform’s technology, NBC Sports will be able to offer the first scalable NIL platform, ushering in a new era of marketing for the industry.
Ayden Syal, MOGL CEO and Co-Founder, said: “As the NIL landscape continues to evolve, MOGL’s vision is for student athletes to maximise their potential in all areas of life – including their name, image, and likeness.
“Our relationship with NBC Sports Athlete Direct increases our ability to continue to offer extraordinary opportunities for our student athletes beyond simply sponsorships.”
Revolutionising how brands interact with student athletes
By teaming up, NBC Sports and MOGL have the potential to revolutionise the way brands approach working with student athletes, making the process more reliable and transparent.
According to NBC Sports, this strategic relationship’s new platform will allow brands to filter through a wide range of athlete influencers and gain access to key insights to enhance their advertising strategies and achieve scalable results with a simple click. It is also being billed as a compliant platform that will renew faith in the NIL system among athletes and brands alike.
Damon Phillips, NBC Sports SVP of Strategic Initiatives, added: “MOGL’s technology will enable to us to build an inclusive and trusted NIL community that will serve the needs of student athletes and brands.”
